Background

The product of this gene belongs to the family of G-protein coupled receptors. This family has several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which overlaps in some cases, for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides. This receptor functions as a receptor for extracellular ATP and ADP. In platelets binding to ADP leads to mobilization of intracellular calcium ions via activation of phospholipase C, a change in platelet shape, and probably to platelet aggregation. Boiled and unboiled LoVo whole cell and membrane extracts (30 μg) were separated by 10% SDS-PAGE, and the membranes were blotted with P2Y1 antibody [HL2702] (GTX639453) diluted at 1:1000 and competitor's antibody (competitor) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody, and the signal was developed with Trident ECL plus-Enhanced.
