Adrenal gland – Pheochromocytoma with moderate to strong S100 beta positivity of tumor cells. A positive staining is also seen in intratumoral nerve fibres.

Adrenal gland – Pheochromocytoma with weak S100 beta immunostaining of tumor cells. A strong staining is seen in intratumoral nerve fibres.

Breast – S100 beta negative invasive breast cancer of no special type (NST).

Esophagus – S100 beta negative adenocarcinoma. An adjacent peripheral nerve stains S100 beta positive.

       

Lymph node – Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma containing numerous S100 beta positive cells, probably representing tumor infiltrating dendritic cells.

Oral cavity – Squamous cell carcinoma containing a large number of S100 beta positive cells, probably representing tumor infiltrating dendritic cells.

Ovary – S100 beta negative serous high-grade carcinoma.

Ovary – Serous high-grade carcinoma containing various S100 beta positive cells, most likely representing tumor infiltrating dendritic cells.

       

Pancreas – Neuroendocrine tumor showing an intense nuclear and cytoplasmic S100 beta immunostaining.

Pancreas – S100 beta negative neuroendocrine tumor.

Penis – Squamous cell carcinoma with numerous S100 beta positive cells, probably representing tumor infiltrating dendritic cells.

Prostate – Adenocarcinoma (Gleason 5+5=10) showing fokal S100 beta staining.

       

Salivary gland – Basal cell adenoma displaying intense S100 beta positivity in tumor cells.

Salivary gland – Pleomorphic adenoma exhibiting strong S100 beta positivity in the vast majority of tumor cells.

Skin – Malignant melanoma showing strong S100 beta immunostaining.

Skin – Malignant melanoma with strong S100 beta positivity in all tumor cells.

       

Soft tissue – Chondrosarcoma with a strong S100 beta immunostaining of tumor cells.

Soft tissue – Chondrosarcoma with strong S100 beta positivity in all tumor cells.

Soft tissue – S100 beta positive granular cell tumor.

Soft tissue – Schwannoma exhibiting a strong, diffuse S100 beta immunostaining.

       

Urinary bladder – Muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma exhibiting several S100 beta positive cells, probably representing tumor infiltrating dendritic cells. Some nerve fibres are also stained.

Vulva – Squamous cell carcinoma containing numerous S100 beta positive cells, probably representing tumor infiltrating dendritic cells.
