Testis - Multiple layers of inconspicuous flat peritubular smooth-muscle-like contractile cells surround seminiferous tubules. In case of impaired spermatogenesis morphological changes of peritubular cells occur and functions may be fundamentally altered. One out of 1 testicular samples (with abnormal spermatogenesis) showed positive calponin 1 immunostaining.
Testis - Weak calponin 1 immunostaining can occur in Sertoli cells.
